Spear of the Winds

The third book in the Westfal series (Spear of the Winds) turns to Tamor, the slave capital, where freedom is a luxury few can afford and death comes swiftly.

Larah has been seized and forced into servitude as a healer for a dying noblewoman. As her mistress’s illness worsens, Larah faces an impossible choice: keep the woman alive and remain enslaved, or let her die and face the fate of a common slave—or death itself. But as Larah tends to her patient’s suffering, something awakens within her. Dark arts, long dormant, begin to stir. Power blooms in her veins, terrifying and intoxicating, and those around her begin to fear what she might become.

Three others converge on Tamor, drawn by their own desperate quests. Riasean returns to the one place he swore never to enter, using a Brotherhood assassination mission as cover for his true purpose: finding Larah and getting her out alive. Gall and his companion Banoch hunt the Spear of the Winds, a powerful artifact now in the hands of a dark arts master. And Faline pursues that same master, seeking to reclaim her own stolen abilities through him.

But Tamor holds darker secrets than anyone anticipates. The Grand Council moves to seize the city through political intrigue and ruthless power, determined to reclaim what they lost in Cazidor and Bretagne. In the chaos of conquest and colliding agendas, Larah discovers she possesses a strength beyond imagining—one that could save them all or destroy everything.

When a healer discovers she is far more than she appears, survival becomes only the beginning.
